Viewsonic expands tablet series with ViewPad 4, 10s devices

Viewsonic has introduced an extension to its ViewPad line of tablers at the 2011 CES show. It's hard to understand calling it a tablet, however, as it is as small or smaller then some Android devices dubbed smartphones.

The ViewPad 4 has a 4.1-inch screen, Qualcomm MSM 8255 1GHz platform, 720p HD video recording, playback, and HDMI 720p display output, along with a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11n wi-fi, and Android 2.2. As it has phone capabilities, it's unclear why Viewsonic is calling this a tablet (it's screen is smaller, for example, than a Droid X), but they are.

The company also announced the ViewPad 10s. Unlike the ViewPad 10, which dual-boots Android 1.6 and Windows 7, this tablet is purse Android 2.2. It has a 10.1-inch screen, 1GHz processor, 802.11n wi-fi, Bluetooth, and a 1.3 megapixel webcam.
